Regarding leather care
Care by Leather Collection
Since the leather contains sufficient oil, initial oil care is not necessary. As you use the product daily, the oil will seep out due to friction, coating the grain side (leather surface) and deepening its color and luster.
Daily Maintenance
Dye-finished leather, tanned with tannin, is very delicate. While it is prone to scratches, if you use it carefully, scratches and dirt will gradually blend in and transform into a rich patina. Daily use, providing appropriate stimulation to the leather, is the best maintenance. For daily care, we recommend wiping with a soft, dry cloth or brushing.
Foschia's white wax is prone to rubbing off, so please be careful not to remove it with dry wiping or brushing.
Leather Moisturizing
If the surface becomes dry after prolonged use, we recommend using a wax that has moisturizing properties and contains wax and oils as ingredients. SYRINX's "Natural Beeswax" is effective not only for moisturizing but also for removing dirt and providing waterproofing.
For Foschia, moisturizing is not necessary until the white wax has penetrated. Please note that if you care for it with wax or cream, the white wax will disappear.
Maintenance for Minor Scratches
Minor scratches can be made less noticeable by rubbing them with your finger or a soft cloth.
Maintenance for Numerous or Deeper Scratches
For slightly deeper or numerous scratches, you can use leather cream to make them less noticeable. Be careful not to apply too much, as it can soften the leather.
Please use a cream suitable for tannin-tanned leather. We recommend "1909 Supreme Cream Deluxe."
Since the leather surface is coated with pigment, it is resistant to scratches, dirt, and water, and no maintenance other than cleaning is required. However, if it gets wet, wipe it off immediately, and for daily care, remove surface dust with a soft cloth.
Cleaning
If you are concerned about surface dirt after prolonged use, you can use commercially available cleaners such as Columbus 500.
Daily Maintenance
While possessing high durability due to chrome tanning, it has a delicate dye finish, requiring careful handling to prevent scratches and water stains. Its luster gradually deepens with prolonged use.
If it gets wet, wipe it off immediately with a soft cloth. For daily maintenance, remove surface dust with a soft cloth or leather brush.
While delicate to water and dirt, the natural patterns and shading derived from mushrooms make stains and dirt easily blend in.
Daily Maintenance
Daily use, providing appropriate stimulation to the leather, is the best maintenance. For daily care, we recommend wiping with a soft, dry cloth or brushing.
Leather Moisturizing
We recommend regular care with a wax that has moisturizing properties and contains wax and oils as ingredients, especially when first purchased or if the surface becomes dry. SYRINX's "Natural Beeswax" is effective not only for moisturizing but also for removing dirt and providing waterproofing.
For products laminated with cowhide, initial moisturizing care is not required for the cowhide side. Please refer to "Liscio" care instructions for details.
General Care
Leather products are very delicate to water and dirt. To prevent water stains and dirt adhesion, we recommend regular use of a waterproofing spray. (Use at your own risk)
However, even with waterproofing spray, if it gets wet, please promptly wipe off any moisture before it soaks into the leather.
Types of Waterproofing Spray
General waterproofing sprays for leather and clothing, made from fluorine, can be used. Among them, we recommend "Collonil Waterstop" as a highly waterproof product.
<Not Usable>
× Silicone-based
× Oil-based
Timing of Care
It is most effective to use it when the product is new. After that, regular use every few months will maintain its effect.
For tannin-tanned leather, such as Foschia and Liscio, the aging process may be slowed down by the UV-cut effect of the spray. Please adjust the frequency according to your preference.
Types of Leather that Can Be Used
Waterproofing spray can be used on all SYRINX leather products. In particular, "dye-finished" leather is very delicate to water and dirt, so we recommend using a waterproofing spray.
How to Use
1 Spray the surface
Remove dirt and dust from the surface with a soft cloth or leather brush, then spray thoroughly until the entire surface is damp. The trick is to generously wet it to prevent stains from uneven application.
By placing the leather product on a stand to slightly lift it before spraying, you can prevent the liquid from getting on the back. Do not touch the surface until it is dry to avoid leaving fingerprints.
(Example) Hitoe® Fold Aria - Foschia - Misty Iris
2 Spray the back
Once dry, the color will return to its original depth, so flip it over and spray the back in the same way. Foschia leather can be sprayed even with white wax remaining. It may look like it's melting when wet, but the white wax appearance will return after drying.
3 Dry
Dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area. Although the surface may appear dry quickly, please refrain from using it until it is completely dry after a full day.
4 Check
Drying is complete when the color unevenness between the sprayed and unsprayed parts has almost disappeared.
Dye-finished, vegetable-tanned leather is extremely susceptible to water. When it contains sufficient oil internally, water stains are less likely to form if wiped off immediately, but it is important to wipe off any moisture as quickly as possible if it gets wet.
If the leather remains wet for a while, water will penetrate inside and cause water stains.
Water stains will gradually blend in with aging, but regular use of a fluorine-based waterproofing spray can reduce the risk of water stains and dirt adhesion in unexpected situations.
Have you ever experienced your leather product getting unexpectedly wet, such as in sudden rain or a spilled drink in your bag? Water exposure can cause stains, color fading, and deformation, so it is crucial to address it as quickly as possible.
1 Absorb moisture
Using a soft, clean cloth, gently wipe. Wiping forcefully may cause color fading, so dab it gently.
2 Air dry in the shade
Air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area to allow moisture that has permeated the leather to evaporate. Please dry it while shaping it as much as possible.
Rapid drying or over-drying can cause deformation and cracking, so please refrain from using a hairdryer.

3 Moisturize
Apply wax or cream to replenish oils. Spreading the oil evenly can also help to make water stains less noticeable.
Precautions
It is very difficult to restore water stains or deformation. If you wipe it off before it soaks in, you can prevent water stains, so if it gets wet, wipe it off as quickly as possible. Also, be careful not to get it wet, or take preventative measures with waterproofing spray.
Leather products, especially those finished with dyes rather than pigments, are very delicate and susceptible to water. We often hear about them getting wet in the following situations, so please be especially careful:
- Do not touch with wet hands from water, sweat, or disinfectant
- Do not place with cold plastic bottles or wet folding umbrellas
- Do not spill liquids such as from a water bottle
Other Considerations
- Due to the natural material, color irregularities and natural marks derived from the raw hide may be visible on the surface.
- Since it is sewn by skilled craftsmen, slight impact marks, indentations, scratches, etc., may be visible.
- The size may change slightly with use.
- Color fading may occur. Please be careful when combining with light-colored clothing.
- There may be slight differences in color and texture depending on the production lot.
- Due to temperature changes, oil components may float to the surface as a white residue. This can be removed by lightly rubbing the surface.
- When storing for long periods, air it out periodically to prevent mold, and wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
- Do not leave contents inside for long periods; remove them periodically to allow for ventilation inside.
- Due to monitor environments, the actual product color may appear slightly different.
