Rotring 600 3-in-1 Multifunction Pen
Since the Hasamu A4 can only hold one pen, many users might want to use a multi-function pen. Among the many multi-function pens, the rOtring 600 3in1 stands out for its high quality. It's a multi-function pen that allows you to switch between three functions: a 0.5mm mechanical pencil and two ballpoint pens (black and red).
The rOtring 600 is a flagship product of rOtring, designed for functionality, and its distinctive hexagonal body has become synonymous with the brand.
The body is made of brass. Despite being a multi-function pen, it conveys robustness with its rigidity and substantial weight.
When in use, there is absolutely no wobbling, which is common with multi-function pens. Even when shaken, it makes no rattling sounds, allowing for a stable writing experience.
The knurling on the grip for slip prevention is delicate and integrated with the barrel. While regular pens have this part separated, by making the body a single piece, it eliminates elements that cause wobbling and achieves a stable writing feel.
It can be said that the shortcomings of multi-function pens are resolved by its precise full-metal body, integrated structure, and substantial weight.
Delicate knurling
The twist knob for switching functions is also knurled. It provides a firm grip, but it's a bit stiff, and I wish the switching was smoother.
Additionally, the matte black baked paint finish, which has a pleasant, rough texture, is beautifully done.
Delicate knurlingA drawback when using it with the Hasamu A4 is that the 3-in-1, due to its multi-functionality, has a thicker barrel than other 600 series pens. The hexagonal part exceeds 10mm (actual measurement 10.8mm), and combined with the rough painted finish, inserting and removing it from the pen holder is quite tight.
If you insert it all the way to the clip, you might accidentally pull out the twist knob and separate the body, so it's better not to put the washer of the clip into the holder, as shown in the photo.
While it's a very attractive multi-function pen, a slimmer pen would be smoother to use in combination with the Hasamu A4.
Fit in the pen holderSince the refill is D1 standard, it can be replaced with one that offers your preferred writing feel, such as Mitsubishi's Jetstream.
