Having won seven design awards both domestically and internationally, the "TSUTSUMU Card Case" is a product that can be considered the origin of SYRINX's leather items.
This masterpiece has been made even more beautiful and refined, surprisingly small, and now almost the size of a business card.
Additionally, since handedness significantly impacts usability, we are simultaneously releasing a left-handed model.
What is the Aria Series?
"Aria" means "Air" in Italian. It also refers to a lyrical solo vocal piece in opera or sacred music.
Thin, light, and as inconspicuous as air. Yet, beautiful and highly original – that is the "Aria" series.
The "Aria" series uses "full-surface bonding" (adhering with glue across the entire surface) for thin leather.
This technique, considered the ultimate luxury in leather products, involves bonding two thinly skived pieces of leather to make the product stronger, lighter, and thinner. The interior also features the grain side, allowing for smooth, snag-free insertion and removal.
The Secret Story of the Aria Series' Birth
SYRINX's leather items began as a way to effectively utilize leftover vachetta leather used in speakers.
For this reason, products before Aria prioritized using the leather in its original thickness.
And one of the companies entrusted with its manufacturing was a long-established leather workshop skilled in creating precise products utilizing "full-surface bonding."
"We want to create products that leverage Japan's excellent technical capabilities."
This valuable connection became the impetus for developing products imbued with this sentiment.
Since no core material is used, the characteristics change significantly with every 0.1mm difference in leather thickness. Also, depending on the combination of leathers bonded together, the tension varies from a soft texture to a strong firmness. We repeatedly experimented with various materials and thicknesses before finalizing the specifications.
