I believe that if the forms born from thought are excellent, they should be known to the world. There is no reason to keep them secret.

That is the starting point of SYRINX.

However, many brands do not disclose their intellectual property. They hide information, fearing imitation.

If disclosed as is, only the form will be imitated. The underlying question will not be conveyed, the meaning of the structure will be lost, and the thought will circulate in a shallow form.

That is consumption, not sharing.

Therefore, boundaries are necessary.

The essence of the system

Article 1 of the Patent Act states:

"The purpose of this Act is to encourage inventions by promoting their protection and utilization, and thereby to contribute to the development of industry."

When I read this sentence, it struck me.

The intellectual property system is not for monopolization. It is a mechanism that grants rights as a reward to encourage the disclosure of inventions.

Rights define boundaries. Disclosure shares thoughts. This coexistence was the essence of the system.

It is not a system born from the fear of hiding, but one designed to encourage disclosure. This understanding forms the basis of SYRINX's choices.

Thoughts moved the market

In 2019, SYRINX gave form to the concept of a "small, thin wallet" as Hitoe® Fold.

After its announcement, wallets incorporating similar ideas began to appear in the market one after another from 2020 onwards. The same thing is happening in the world of long wallets. The Hitoe® L-zip L, equipped with a double card pocket (registered design), became the origin of a new lineage of "small, thin long wallets," and subsequent products began to appear from 2025.

It is noteworthy that many of the later products are designed with consideration for our intellectual property rights.

By rights defining boundaries, the core of thought is protected. And new solutions emerge from the periphery, moving the market. This is the very design intent of the intellectual property system.
