How to use waterproof spray

Leather products are very delicate when it comes to water and dirt. To prevent water stains and dirt buildup, we recommend regular use of a waterproof spray. (Please use at your own risk.)

However, even with waterproof spray, if the product gets wet, please wipe off the moisture quickly before it soaks into the leather.

Types of Waterproof Spray

You can use a general waterproof spray for leather and clothing that uses fluorine as its main ingredient. Among these, we recommend "Collonil Waterstop" for its high waterproofing performance.

Not to be used:
× Silicone-based
× Oil-based

When to Maintain

It is most effective to use it when the product is new. After that, applying it regularly, once every few months, will maintain its effectiveness.

Types of Leather that Can Be Used

Waterproof spray can be used on all SYRINX leather products. In particular, we recommend using waterproof spray on "aniline-dyed" leather, as it is very delicate to water and dirt.

How to Use
1 Spray the Surface

Remove any dust or debris from the surface with a soft cloth or leather brush, then spray thoroughly until the entire surface is damp. The trick is to spray generously to prevent stains caused by uneven application.

By placing the leather product on a stand and elevating it slightly, you can prevent the liquid from getting onto the back. Do not touch the surface until it is dry to avoid leaving fingerprints.

Fluorine-based waterproof spray
It appears uneven because it penetrates quickly, but the entire surface has been thoroughly wetted.

2 Spray the Reverse Side

Once dry, the color will return to its original depth, so flip it over and spray the reverse side in the same way. Foschia leather can be sprayed with the white wax still present. Although it may appear to melt when wet, the white wax texture will return after drying.

Internal waterproof spray
Even if air bubbles form, they will not leave marks if the surface is thoroughly wet.
3 Dry

Dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area. Although the surface may appear dry quickly, please refrain from using it for a full day until it is completely dry.

After drying waterproof spray
After drying, the white wax also returns to its original state.
4 Check

Drying is complete when the color variation between the sprayed and unsprayed areas has almost disappeared.

After drying waterproof spray
The color variation with the unsprayed inner part has disappeared, and it has returned to its original appearance.
